In relief sculpture , sculptors mainly use four basic techniques in common. Four main techniques exist in sculpting: roughly divided into carving, assembling, modeling, and casting. To put it simply, these processes are either subtractive, that is, the material is removed. Or carved out, or additive, or the material is added in. The first kind of carving: carving includes a rudiment formed by cutting or cutting off some excess materials from a large number of stones or other hard materials. Engraving is a decreasing process, it is a subtractive process, and the material is systematically eliminated from the outside to the inside. The second is the casting method: it is a sculpture made of molten material usually made of metal, then poured into a mold and then the mold is cooled to harden the metal, usually the material is mostly bronze.
